Certified technicians, no exceptions
Every person running a test at ClearPass holds a current BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) smog license. We re-verify certifications every renewal cycle — not just at hiring.
About ClearPass
We started ClearPass because a state-mandated test shouldn't eat your whole lunch break or end with a stranger pressuring you into a $600 repair. So we built the opposite of that.
Why ClearPass
Every person running a test at ClearPass holds a current BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) smog license. We re-verify certifications every renewal cycle — not just at hiring.
We test emissions. We don't sell repairs, and we're not commissioned on what we find. If your vehicle needs work, we'll say so plainly and let you choose where to get it done.
We track our own average wait time in real time and post it at the front desk — 12 minutes and counting. If we're running long, we tell you before you commit to the wait.
The Facility
Most smog stations are an afterthought bolted onto a repair shop. ClearPass is a purpose-built testing facility — multiple open bays, a comfortable waiting lounge with real seating and wifi, and a layout designed so cars keep moving instead of queuing on the street.
The Team
Small, senior, and sticks around — most of our lead technicians have been with ClearPass since we opened.
